I use a "Digital" third party battery bought through Ebay. I asked the seller if it was compatible with the G2. He said it was, and it does work just fine.

That looks like mine. Can't remember if I bought from this guy or not - can't just find the email, but he sounds familiar. It works fine, though (touch wood!).
