Got any great Pen photos?

Olympus UK is working on a photo book that will be used in-store to show what the Pen E-PL1, E-P1, E-P2, etc. are capable of. The book won't be on sale, instead it will be available for staff and customers to refer to in order to verify styles of photography and effects that the Pens are suitably capable of (for example, creative limited depth of field).

So Olympus UK has asked the e-group to invite visitors here to submit candidates (images taken with a Pen) for inclusion in the book. Anyone whose picture or pictures are used will get a free copy of the book as a thank you, and you will be clearly acknowledged in the book.

If you are interested, let me know and I will pass your details on!

During a shoot while the model was having a rest, I tried a few of the Art Filters. This is "Gentle Sepia"

I have only had it for a couple of months so most are fairly average autumnal photos. I would like to be considered if Olympus are interested - everyone loves a good photo book on the coffee table!

I think these are the 1st E-PL1 shots I have put on here!
Only camera I took on holiday this year! think I still prefer the E-30 but it does have an advantage at times (e.g. size)

While this was taken with the E-PL1 as a "Grab Shot" of the strange midday lighting, the Exposure used was:- "Creative Program (based towards depth of field)"

I'm using the E-PL1 on top of my OM Bellows unit with an 80mm f/4.0 Macro Lens. This is the top of my well used E-500, you can even see left over bits of my lunch in there

Olympus need pictures that can be shown to potential Pen customers (and I suspect some of the sales staff) to show that the cameras and lenses are capable of desired effects and ultimate image quality. Examples of Art Filters, creative limited depth of field, even action shots (which some believe the Pens are not well suited for), etc. High ISO, also comes to mind.

I will act as an aggregator and pass on submissions emailed to me at [email protected].

Web resolution versions are fine for a start and if there is further interest we can request the full resolution version later.

I'll set a target of getting submissions in by the end of next week (26th November).

This is HDR but do you think this could be of any use Ian, taken on a E-PL1 with standard kit lens, processed from 1 RAW file



or maybe this, using the Grainy B&W Filter

Steve, I really like the moody HDR roller coaster Was the HDR effect from a third party program? In which case it may not be suitable as the exercise is to showcase the camera and its options specifically.

The guitar shot looks promising - nice use of limited dof and the grainy Art Filter.
