  • Should I be here? And no Oly swivel screen

Now I've sold my E3 plus lenses (first time I've ever sold camera gear, but this time the money was worth it) perhaps I shouldn't be on this forum. I moved to a Panasonic GH1 with its 14-140.

But I also bought an Oly 9-18, so I guess I just qualify.

I bought the E3 because at the time it was the only DSLR with a swivelling screen (at least, that I knew of). So why has Oly abandoned this with micro? I'm just one of many who find this feature really useful.

If Oly introduce a micro 4/3 with a swivelling screen, I'll probably change. I much prefer Oly jpegs and even using RAW I find Panny colours more challenging. I also want in body IS so even wide angles can be stabilised. But not with a fixed screen.

Re: Should I be here? And no Oly swivel screen

We have been through this question recently before with someone else who has moved from an E-System DSLR to a Panasonic Micro Four Thirds camera.

I have done my best to clarify things and so I will do so again; yes you are most welcome to continue to be a member here. Panasonic is a technical partner with Olympus and while this site is operated for and behalf of Olympus UK, the fact is that you and other Panasonic users are potential (and like you -actual) customers of Olympus for lenses and even for cameras in the future. I'm sure you also have knowledge that may be useful to others here.

When it comes to promotions and competitions, these will be focussed mainly, but not exclusively, on UK-resident Olympus users, and I'm sure most will regard that as fair and appropriate.
