I read the Wrotniak article on IR and am happy to admit that it inspired me to buy an IR filter for my E510, like Ellie though I am still waiting for the weather to cheer up before giving it a go.
Out of interest the pic below was taken recently on the South Coast, I processed it from a RAW file in CS3 and applied the IR filter contained within the CS3 package, what do you think? (yes I know it's cheating......)
That's an idea, by taking a couple of shots of the same scene, one with the IR filter on the camera and the other without, then putting the PS filtered image side by side and see what the difference is and what looks the best.
As was said, as soon as the weather gets better we can get out and try all this stuff. Ok I know IR is still there on rainy days and the camera is weather sealed, but I'm not so I'll wait until it get a bit warmer and there are more leaves on the trees.

Yes it would have been nice, I am sure volunteers would have been few and far between, I think that Ellie (E400) and myself (E510) have to be a bit more careful as of course neither our cameras (or me, can't speak for Ellie) are weather sealed
One up for the E3
Just tried an infrared filter (Cokin P filter) on my E400 and as very disappointed. Pictures far underexposed and very very very noisy.
Any ideas welcome.

Spring is one of the best times for infrared when there is fresh green foliage on the trees. Let's look forward to all the forthcoming results.

I have a Hoya 58mm IR R72 filter and attempted to use it with my E-510 and several lenses. I only played with it a little bit and I was not happy with the results.
Have just uploaded example of infrared photo in architecture taken with the E500 and forgot to mention exposure setting. It was 2 seconds @ f4.5
I have had good results using the Olympus C-2020 with Hoya R72 fitted.
This camera has a less sensitive i/r fited in the camera. Interesting reading at

I have checked the EXIF readings on Bournemouth gardens and the settings
were 1/100 sec. @ f2 with a speed rating of iso 100. Feel sure I would have used apeture priority.Thanks for the compliments.
