HELP! Olympus zx-2

Hi, I have been looking at an Olympus zx-2 to complement my EM5. I would be grateful if any one with hands on experience of this camera could answer a couple of specific questions. The information on Olympus UK web site is not specific enough.

Firstly is the shutter quiet or can be made silent? My EPL3 shutter actuation sounded like a car door being slammed shut.

second, is there a snap focus function, I am thinking of the Ricoh GDR series where focus can be set from as little as a metre to infinity and you can shoot without requiring a further focus lock.

Any other comments would be most appreciated.

With the XZ-1 if you turn the volume down it silent with the sound up the it bleeps on achieving focus and makes a electronic shutter sound.
No snap focus function

Try the menu on the EPL3 under sound settings it may well be an elctronic shutter sound.

When set to Macro or super Macro the camera will not focus on distant objects and it will not work in macro without switching to one of these modes. In autofocus it is fast.

manual focusing is fiddly on the XZ-1 but is supposed to be improved on the XZ-2

The XZ-1 is capable here are some of my shots with it usually shot in RAW and processed in photoshop

Thanks for sharing your experience and the images. I especially enjoyed he bluebells and the big flame images. The image quality looks very good

I pick up my zx-2 at the weekend and I am hoping the weather will be good so I can get out and shoot.

Olympus zx-2

Hi, I picked up my ZX-2 in black and I am really pleased with it. It is the Durham Miners Gala in Durham a week on Saturday and I plan to give it an outing
