I get a huge amount of use out of my two FL-300Rs. They, together with my FL-36R, are controlled TTL RC by my F L-LM2 (light switched off via camera menu) on the hot shoe. This is my standard flash kit for macro.
When the batteries in a gun are exhausted the green and orange lights on the back of the unit flash repeatedly and in unison until I switch off.
Recently, this seemed to be happening with one unit when I knew the batteries were fully charged. However, the green light seemed to be flashing more rapidly than usual. Inserting fresh batteries and switching on made no difference.
To cut quite a long story short, I found that pressing the auto check (orange light) after switching on at the beginning of a session restored normal function. This seems to work reliably.
