72mm lens cap

Folks,

Does anyone know if Olympus do a 'new' type 72mm lens cap that allows the user to remove it with a lens hood on?

I have a 11-22mm lens and when the hood is mounted, I cannot get my sausage fingers into the thin gap where the cap release are squeezed. I have noted that the kit lenses have a much better design that have the release points toward the cente of the cap. Does that make sense?

The 12-60 also has a 72mm thread, and the cap which came with mine is centre-pinch.

Many thanks Andrew...'centre pinch' - that was the phrase I was looking for. I will contact Olympus and see if they are availabe as a spare part.

LC-67B 67mm Centre Pinch Lens Cap

Adding to your original post Steve.

Any one know where I can get a LC-67B centre pinch lens cap from, it is the 67mm one that ships with the new 50-200mm SWD but I have been told it will work with my 14-54mm and I am fed up of having to always take the hood off to get the lens cap off.

I ordered replacement lens caps from my local supplier for all my lenses 58 and 72mm. All centre pinch direct from Olympus, only around $8 (CDN) each and received them in about 2 weeks.

I bought a replacement for a lost 58mm one recently and it came with a retaining cord so I rated it superior to the original
