HELP! Cotton Carrier Harness

I see Cotton Carrier have a sale on- wondering about one for the OM1 with the 150-400 on when I go off on my bike, dont see many using them in the UK and wonder if anyone on here has tried one.

Have the camera in a back pack is OK but a bit of pain when you see something and need to shoot quickly - I am tempted to get one just insure of its real usability.

Hi Russell I have one just rececently bought to try and spread the load on my back to reduce the pain on my lung.

What I can tell you is the harness works but you have a dilemma of do you put the fixing on the camera body and then have strain on the weight of the lens "pulling' on the camera body or do you mount the connector to the arca plate. This does then move the camera away from your body and feels to me unsafe

I also found under the last arrangement the security strap on the waitband bit cannot go around the lens barrel and be secured.

I have only used mine a couple of times and am looking of how I can overcome the last problem.

Just my twopence worth maybe order the cheap version from Amazon and try it home to at least see how it works and the shortcomings of the design then return it I did mange by luck buy a as used one of Ebay for £60

I intend to use mine come what may as it has helped with weight distribution but would have reservations if I was able to cycle

I saw another video where the guy had the mount on using a Smallrig cage which does take the strain off the lens mount if you do not use the tripod foot, I was thinking of using a plate on the tripod foot so the camera was not up so high near your face, also I now need a knew right knee so getting the camera off my right side maybe a good idea! - may get it in the sale , it is also carriage free and a 30 day return so nothing to loose expect with a bad knee short dark days I am not using the camera much except in my hide- which has turned out to be a Godsend!

I think the £95 Cotton Carrier one would be a better quality- maybe - lot of money dangling on it! - 30 day return and if I still dont like it then some resale value?

I got one in AliExpress that works quite well, it’s a big difference to carry the 150-400mm when walking through difficult terrain. Brand is seven oak, about 40€ now with a double mount, chest and waist.
