  • Cuba 219 - Cafe culture

There are many "independent" food outlets serving anything and everything for the locals, all at what we would think are rock bottom prices eg 40p for a ham pizza, if you want to risk it!

    Today's Menu.

Checking out what might be for tea.

Hi Beagletorque, if the Cafeteria Perez is as rough as the doors,(the doors look to have been through some very tough times), no thanks, I do not think that our western stomachs would be able to handle the food, as cheap as it is to buy, we will leave it for the cubans this time

    BTW they are cracking photos.

Whilst I appreciate they are mainly to cater for tourists, some of the Paladares we ate at were fabulous. The food was superb quality and the cooking excellent.
Just about the only thing missing was beef, as that was reserved for government outlets.

Jane doesn't eat meat, but was starting to get a bit fed up with fresh lobster by the end of our trip. It's a country I'd love to re-visit; the people and the scenery were wonderful.
          Best Regards
          Bill
