Greg just got back from the weekly Asda run so sorry for the delay.
What you have to remember is that using any of the blur tools stretches the pixels outward, so they will always show.
The trick is to duplicate the layerand on the background layer clone the background over the edges of the subject or in this completely.
Then use a layer mask or selection technique to cut out the image from the top layer.
