Canon's top of the range 70-200/f2.8 is £500 more than the 50-200/f2.8. Yes you can get cheaper but they're inferior. Quality costs....

I doubt it'll have much, if any effect, on used prices for the 40-150. It's one of OM's best selling lenses because it's useful in so many genres of photography...
