Have Olympus and, now, OM System, focused too much on satisfying bird photographers?
A thought-provoking forum post, by a self-confessed bird photographer and birdwatcher, asked if there were now too many bird photos on the site. This triggered a busy, but congenial debate about the evolution of Micro Four Thirds to satisfy wildlife photographers and, hence, provide us a glut of great bird photos. Join the discussion here.
We have been running a survey on what photo software everyone use
We’re interested to know which software applications you use most of the time. It’s not only interesting to find out which packages are used the most, but it might help you discover software you might not have heard of or considered before. You can see the results of the poll so far, and take part, too, here.
Filters being sold to fund the site
In a super gesture, forum member, moggi1964, is offering nearly 20 of his old lens filters for sale and all the proceeds will be donated to fund the site. They come in a variety of sizes, functions, and ages, but he’s guaranteed that all are in good nick. Find out more here.
More entries sought for Novembers flame-orientated challenge!
This month’s photo challenge is, well, a bit more challenging than usual! It’s called ‘Bonfires’ but, apart from Guy Fawkes night, they aren’t too common. Perhaps a dig into the archive or you might even post a loosely related photo? Have a look here.
No more plain text newsletters!
Yes, we’ve reached the 21st century, at last, with pictures and formatting in our newsletter. Today’s is a very simple design – we’re working on that. We’re also looking at rebranding the site now that OM System is firmly established.
That’s all for now, see you on the site!
