Hi Andrew, looks like the truck has had a hard working life, is the mascot made of two different mascots fastened together ?, the lower one looks like a jet and the upper one a Liverbird ( on top of the Liverbuildings in Liverpool).

I think you are right about the mascot(s), it looks like a Packard Swan attached to a Ford jet?
