  • Cuba 186 - Hotel Inglaterra

If you are staying in a Casa in Old Havana then my tip is to get to the Hotel Inglaterra for their (eat as much as you like) buffet breakfast for $6. The selection is as good as you will find; pastries, cereals, fresh fruit, full cooked breakfast, bread, ham, cheese, yoghurt, toast and a range of drinks including the wonderful Cuban coffee. Just go in, find a quiet table and act as if you own the place! We enjoyed wandering through Old Havana at dawn, it's calm, cool(er) and quiet compared to the excitement of the day and nice prelude to breakfast.

It's the oldest hotel in Havana.

Slightly worn but lovely interior features.

    Impressive tiling.

You'll know you're in the right place!

It does have a wonderful ambience. I can almost picture Fidel in his military greens at the nearest table, a big fat Havana cigar in one hand and a glass of Mojito in the other!
