  • Cuba 170 - Blind

St. Beagle donates a shirt to the blind man. A previous day my wife had been upset by an old blind guy who was stumbling about trying to make his way out of the bank and back home. I talked to him and he spoke surprisingly good english. I gave him a few $ and he was very happy and very grateful. A few days later I saw him sitting in the shade and said hello it's me again and I've got you a shirt today. "What colour is it?", blue I say, "good, I like blue" came the reply. He was happy for the photo.

    "I like blue."

You are as saintly as your name, Andrew ... at first I thought it was unsaintly Mark

The Saint part was tongue in cheek, it's very easy to add a little happiness there as many have so little.

In a sad world, the best kind of diplomacy is one that brings dividends to both parties. In this case, the man is truly thankful for the gifts and the others get a feel-good factor, a story to tell and a nice photo to finish with.
It's not what inspires us that is important, it's where the journey takes us.
