Hot tip - the Havana Bus Tour runs on 2 (was 3) routes starting and stopping at Parque Central outside the Hotel Inglatera. One runs out east to the beach and the other west as far as the marina. As well as just doing "the tour" (ideal for getting your bearings and sniping a few shots from the top deck) you can get on and off at any stop and ride about all day on the same ticket for just $5. When you get off just make sure the conductor (who sits by the door) gives you a ticket so you can get back on for "free". MAKE SURE you sit on the left hand side upstairs or you will be dodging foliage and branches on the way round. DO NOT STAND UP when the bus is moving unless you want to be decapitated by electrical wires which will be just above head height when you are seated! You may remember my earlier post here. The bus can get busy in the middle of the day so start early for the full tour on the top deck, then you will more or less have it to yourself.
