  • Cuba 139 - Street taxis

Street taxis are a good way to get from one end of a particular road to the other. Many of them end up at Parque Central which was only a short distance from where we were staying. Just wait at the side of the road for the someone to stop and ask them where they are going, then squeeze in with everyone else for a cosy, but very cheap ride. It is a great way to ride about in the old american classics without the tourist price tag and you can get some unusual shots if you dare stick your camera out the window!

    Fiats, jaffa style.

    Traffic jam.

I'm in the Belair an' lovin' it!

(now the 60's was the era of the stylish automobile)

Thanks for the lift, I may even give you a tip next time, cabbie!

Hi there, in the first photo of the fiat jaffas, the first fiat is really air conditioned, nice and cool to drive, the fresh air blowing right through. I dont think that would be allowed here .nice interior in the second photo.

Still enjoying your Cuba photos. Love the colours in No 1.
Have just watched a TV Show on the lifting of the embargo. So interesting and made more so as the scenes were more familiar to me through viewing your photos. Hopefully there will be good times ahead now and easier lives for lots of Cubans.

Love those orange FIATs. But the front one needs some wheel arch extensions!!

You certainly travelled around in style there.
