    DIY Cuban style, unusually professional!

This is Lorenzo the American Taxi Tour Pimp. He sorts you out with a "good deal" depending on what you require, for a small commision no doubt!
    My wares.

Revising on the way to school. School uniforms seem very import in Cuba, except for the shoes that is.
Shoes are very expensive and can cost a month's wages for a pair. Perhaps that is why?

Cubans love to chat at anytime of the day, but first thing in the morning on the way to work is best.

    Hanging out the washing.

This guy may have upset his GF once too often...

Bringing up the water. He's not a boy scout, that's a school uniform.
With the water pipes being replaced many people have roof tanks which are filled up by pumping water from tankers several times a week.
Others just rely on the odd bucket from here and there.

More fascinating shots of life as it happens.

Would you agree that Cubans in their austerity are possibly happier than their average US neighbours?

+ They certainly appear less stressed out.

They do know how to enjoy themselves with very little money, but they are desperate to be like America with all the trimmings. Only time will tell if they will be happy on it. At the end of the day contentment comes from within and money is just a distraction, so perhaps a simple life enables easier contentment - assuming you have a roof over your head and food in your belly!

You put it in a nutshell, BT.

They envy America's lifestyle unaware of the toll it takes on its people.

On the other hand, it's nice to be miserable in comfort, I guess!
