There are lots of street sweepers in Havana and there are a lot of litterers too, perhaps people think they are doing their bit to keep the sweepers employed? Although they have big wheelie bins often stuff is dumped next to them not actually in them. At first I thought it was so people could go through it before the real rubbish ended up in the bin as what was in the bin was really disgusting. Then I saw that they do not have the equipment to lift the bins into the lorry, so they tip them on the floor and shovel. It's a long way up and the smell is horrendous!

Another superb themed set, the first one in particular is inspired.

Number 2 screams Cuba. Really enjoyed this series.
Still set on going, still hoping that maybe later this year, but it is looking less and less likely. My fear is I'll arrive late to the party and it'll be just another Western country. There is always North Korea I guess...

Re: Cuba 22 - A clean Sweep
Great set of images that really capture the character of Cuba.
Cuba has always been a place that must be a photographers paradise especially with the old, large, brightly coloured american motors and the people of character.
I was lucky enough to go to India a few years ago and that was also a photographers paradise, the people were all super friendly and happy to be photographed and it was in another time zone completely (talking years not hours).
Anyone who is lucky enough to travel to these places will be able to capture some stunning images.
Anyone interested in looking at the India shots can see them at these links:

I used the X100 for quite a few images in and around Hyderabad and was very pleased with it's performance, even took a tumble and bounced wi...

Like the old Russian truck in #1. Well themed set. One photo judge of my acquaintance usually starts with "What can you SMELL?" I'd rather not think about that in this instance!
I think the lady in #4 must be an incorrigible optimist.......
Must be a job for life!

I don't think there will be too much change in the short term, there is just so much that needs to be done....Originally posted by al_kaholik View PostNumber 2 screams Cuba. Really enjoyed this series.
