Re: Ladies in RED

What a lovely collection, although if I had the money it wouldn't go on Ferraris! Too low for me

Sadly, these stunning cars are most admired at home and in their garage ... just as each of us probably has a few cameras but only one car ... these people have lots of cars and lots or no cameras

Going out these cars gets "dusty" - note no dust in climate & dust controlled environment

They are not comfortable to drive and I have owned one ... YES ! Back in Texas, when working for EDS/Ross Perot I bought one back ... it was a scrapper ... In the USA then all car repairs were by "pop rivets" ... and they has few people who could repair a car like this. SMU in Dallas (State Medical University) car park was full of 16-19 year olds Fairy's ; Lambo's ; Mas ; Porsche ; etc ., One Guy bought them all up Bill Coffey I think his name was, he had a few 2 and 3 story car parks loaded with them and he sshipped over Brits with skills - giving them advance payments of then 60,000 (to pay off their mortgage at home here) and set them up in nice detached homes (he happened to own ...) with a job, income and Green card for chap and his wife ) ... THEN Bill exported the cars over Europe, Asia - My Brother worked for him .. we actually met up both working in Dallas

Mine was repaired here in the UK and I sold it and invested the profits.

Unfortunately Bill got caught importing European car parts which, unbeknown to him, were stacked with drugs ...

They are not nice cars to drive for a little person on our roads TRACKS yes ! and I have taken quite a few around Goodwood on Owners days but that's a long long story ... for another day from another life

YES Dinky TOYS ... well that's sort of honest, and how the Owner feels about them (probably as you felt for your collection)

NO I did not get to drive one ... or fly one of his "Warbirds" airplanes although I have been offered a ride and loop the loop in his twin seated Spitfire but I am not brave enough, yet ...

Re: Ladies in RED

Just a thought to cheer up any Droooling viewers...

CAN YOU IMAGINE THE COST OF POTHOLES DAMAGE to these CARS my dear old Mercedes last year was £750 for one shocker and labour ... let alone on these the floor pan damage and even twisted chassis leading to "skuttle shake"

DO YOU KNOW that even a new Bonnet; or Wing or any panel, does not FIT on but have to turned and trimmed to fit on - as no two cars are EXACTLY the same my Bro makes a bonnet to fit any vintage Fairy for £12,000 fitted for Maranello

https://www.ferrariparts.co.uk/

They are AWESOME on Track days I may dig out and scan some old photos ... I even "frightened" Pete Gethin through the Chicane (real one not the Goodwood todays pussy chicane

UNbelieveable, could your friend bear parting with just ONE?
My poor little Pulsar is at the repairers having new panels fitted after a "P-plater" (female ) gave it a good swipe with the ugly stick!

Would YOU part with the Olympus E-3 to someone who wanted "a camera ? " Treasured possessions' are rarely, if ever loan or even sold as people who treasure possessions' often become collectors

I did have a dream the other morning just before waking, that a police man gave us a bad look and pointed to the scratches down the passenger side of Mickey ... probably linked to my having booked him for full service & MoT, so I am not looking forward to the bill OR being without him ... my empathy is with you Mark

Roger, Tut! Tut! and you a married man !

mines the black 4 seater - so there is a back seat for my DOG (it is unsafe to travel young children and treasured dogs in the front and the Alcantara seat covering is great as his claws can dig in, if I break hard urm WHEN I brake hard

Re: Ladies in RED

Sorry, they don't do anything for me, although I do respect them as investment "stock". For goodness sake only the black one has any proximity sensors and then only on the rear!
