Hi there Floribunda!

I love both of these, I think that the black and white works well for the subject. On another note, they remind me of my garden - they're the only things flowering at the moment!

Cheers,

Ralph.

Hi Ralph Thank you! - You have made my day! I promised myself to have a go at Mono this year as I really do like some subjects in it, and this thistle seemed to fit the bill.
And I have plenty in the garden to practice on too!

Lovely images Lyn, I like No 1 for its simplicity.

Well, you are both young enough for mono to be trendy, akin to Melbourne's young set born with a smartphone grown into their hand and three layers of different length shirts hanging out ...

Am I envious? ... Nah!

Re: Messing about with Mono.

Secretly I agree, Roger.

Just that Lyn and I know each other personally and occasionally a little friendly sledging goes on!

Thanks Alf, Tom and Roger. I am really glad you liked these - I am not confidant with Mono yet & appreciate your input.

"Well, you are both young enough for mono to be trendy" - I will have you know that I am only a few years younger than you - heading for the BIG 70 in January!
We have covered this topic before, and I don't know why you think mono is "trendy"! The right subject is enhanced by mono and given another dimension, trendy does not come into it at all.
Once more we agree to disagree! Fun isn't it?

Re: Messing about with Mono.

Well I did admit to Roger that I secretly agreed with him ... what more do you want, a written backflip!

In the absence of heaps of glowing praise, the backflip will suffice!
