Please give us warning it's 'that Tony' again. I refuse to add clicks to his channel, now I have just added one.

Hope you gave him a thumbs down

BTW does anyone else here see a resemblance between him and Kilroy-Silk?

Re: Rumors: Olympus to shut down camera division in less than 8 months

Story from the other week on Panasonic.
https://www.panasonic.com/global/cor...9_vision_e.pdf

Panasonic says it will “eradicate businesses with loss-making structures” and set a new direction in “low-profit businesses” by the year ending March 2022.
To pursue new strategies for operations that aren’t competitive, including “drastic capital policies”
Panasonic doesn’t name the affected operations
Will speed up reduction of fixed costs to contribute to profit by 100b yen in fiscal 2021: 40b yen of this reduction to come from the structurally loss-making businesses, 30b yen from reduced personnel costs and 30b yen from improved efficiency including site integration

----

Last week they announced sale of their chip making division to a Taiwan company and also they will exit LCD panel production.

Appliances Division (which includes digital cameras)

Sales decreased by 2% to1,375.8 billion yen from a year ago. Despite increased sales of room air-conditioners in Asia and Europe as well as favorable sales in Commercial Refrigeration & Food Equipment in North America, overall sales decreased due to sluggish overseas sales of TVs and digital cameras. Operating profit decreased to 52.9 billion yen from a year ago due to the impact of lower sales mainly in TVs

----

So it sounds like digital cameras is safe for now.

Yes, but will they continue with MFT? They seem to be going up against the revered Sony a7 full frame models.
