Re: Hummingbird Hawk Moth

Wonderful shots Dave. I have got some Hardy Plumbago in my garden too. I have seen loads of butterflies on it but no Hummingbird Hawk Moths.

Re: Bird ID Please?

I agree with Iain. The second bird is definitely an Osprey and the diamond shaped tail makes the first one a Raven for me. Two great birds OM.

Re: LOTS of Grey Headed Flying Foxes (mega bats).

What an amazing sight and some great shots Ross. They are very impressive looking creatures.

On a less pleasant note the third and fourth shots remind me of a disgusting sight here where...

Re: Panasonic 100-400 vs 300 f4 information

I have just measured my 300mm f4 and I make it 230mm with the hood retracted and 280mm with it extended.

Edited to add: the diameter of the hood is 92mm, if relevant.

You seem to have got to grips with your new acquisition pretty quickly Mike. That Barnacle Goose looks rather feisty!

What amazing camouflage. Two great shots Walti, especially the second one.

The Tree Creepers near me must have even more cryptic plumage as I haven't spotted one for months. :D

What a great looking bird Ross. Lovely shots in a great setting. I like the way its eyes match the privet berries.

That is a lovely, tranquil scene Mark. Despite being completely the opposite side of Britain, it has a remarkably similar feel to Wells harbour near me.

Re: Spotted Flycatchers with 300+MC-20

Yes, very nice indeed Andrew. From the second photo you appear to live in a castle with a portcullis. That's a surprise. :)
