Re: 300mm f4 no longer available

Finger trouble explains a lot in these cases. Oly aren't going to discontinue one of the most magnificent portrait lenses on the planet.

Re: Lens roadmap due

+1 for the 12-50. IMHO it's a bit of a sleeper.

Re: Lens roadmap due

Going for f4 instead of f2.8 will make the lens significantly smaller and lighter. You can do an awful lot with an f4 lens as owners of the 12-100 can testify.

Re: 300mm f4 no longer available

I seriously doubt that Park et al are getting better wholesale prices than Wex. TBH although I've bought from Wex in the past I find them generally a bit on the dear side.

There's plenty of dealers with the 300 f4 in stock.

Re: Black Friday Deals

Annoying as I just last week bought one off them at 399. Still Ive just got a TG-6 off Amazon for 299. I wasn't going to upgrade from my TG-3 until next year but a 150 saving was too much to pass...

Re: Rumors: Olympus to shut down camera division in less than 8 months

Hope you gave him a thumbs down ;)

BTW does anyone else here see a resemblance between him and Kilroy-Silk?

Re: Rumors: Olympus to shut down camera division in less than 8 months

You couldn't trust anything on the www in 1995 ;)

I think it's more likely the rumour originated from some click-bait blogger or YouTuber. Certainly someone who has no scruples and probably no...

Re: Rumors: Olympus to shut down camera division in less than 8 months

I can't believe that you lot are still swallowing this poison. Olympus are NOT selling their camera business. You need to watch the first part of Joe Edelman's latest YouTube chat

Re: Lumix TC 14, Oly MC14 and MC20

You'll need to ask the engineers at Olympus about the design of the MC14 and MC20. On the old 4/3rds system it was a lot easier since all lenses were telecentric.

Re: Boris Gate

It's always been that way. Did you seriously believe that politicians were going suddenly start telling the truth?

Re: Yorkshire Flooding.

I'm not sure where you got your emission figures from. From what I can see transport is the single largest component of CO2 emissions at 27%.

Re: Rumors: Olympus to shut down camera division in less than 8 months

So it'll be very much like in the old film days. The camera companies seemed to survive those times ;)

Re: Yorkshire Flooding.

I think it varies. The developer of course want to build on the flood plain as it maximises their profits and that has happened in nearby towns (my town isn't on a flood plane). There's an awful lot...

Re: Yorkshire Flooding.

Planning is nothing to do with the courts. The developers can appeal to Secretary of State but that's it. It's a purely political matter. Councils are generally caught between a rock and a hard...

I can add House Sparrow, Common Starling, Willow Warbler (once), Siskin and Moorhen (once). Are we allowed fly-overs because then I can add Canada Goose, Barn Swallow, House Martin and Black-headed...

Re: Yorkshire Flooding.

Clearing those smaller water courses only makes flooding worse. A natural stream will have many places where fallen logs will create mini-dams which will slow and hold back some of the water....

Re: Rumors: Olympus to shut down camera division in less than 8 months

I'd say Nikon are the most vulnerable. Just about every other manufacturer has other, bigger, more profitable revenue streams. The rumour is, of course, a deliberate lie circulated by a number of...

Re: Rumors: Olympus to shut down camera division in less than 8 months

I don't believe that Olympus actually has a camera division. ISTR that cameras are part of their imaging division.

Re: Rumour 70-250 & Oly 100-400

i hope that if Oly bring out a 100-400(ish) they'll make it teleconverter compatible. It's nice to have the option even if you only occasionally have enough light.

Boris's lot? Do you mean the UK Government? Because both Tory and Labour governments have been selling arms to unsavoury regimes around the world for many decades. The rationale is usually "If they...
