Went back to film

Well today I decide to try out the OM-10 that I got when I purchased the 50mm 1.8, had to pickup couple of batteries, and some cheap film Kodak UltraMax ISO400, loaded things up and out to the back yard. It's been at least a dozen years since I used film anyway shot off a 24exp roll and took it into our local Walmart fotolab and got it processed and had them do me a CD as well, here are a couple from the CD.

I've had several OM10s they are very under rated but turn in great results.

I bet the full resolution images are really good ?

A little tweek to dial down the colours a bit and you have perfectly good image quality.

There's just something about film that I don't see in digital, well done. Used the 50/1.8 I assume?

Surprised the highlights in the roses are lost - colour neg should give you a lot of latitude. Also, the colours look cold to me. It's possible the digitising wasn't great by the lab of course.

Hi Ian,

Well have to correct you on the flower type they are peonies not roses, however I agree the highlights are blown on the white ones.

I'm thinking the combo of the 1 Hour photo lab processing, me the the photographer with a film camera, and the very bright mid day sun has contributed to the results we are seeing here. It is amazing how spoiled we are now with digital, being able to PP most of our errors out on our computers, it was kind of funny, I caught myself while trying out the OM-10 after taking a shot and then looking at the back of the camera

Yes we used the 50/1.8, and aprox. 10 - 15 feet from the peonies.

Peony or Paeony?

We have some in our garden and I have to say yours like a darned site better!

Chimping a film camera - how embarrassing! - I'm sure I'd be exactly the same!
