There used to be a Lamborghini tractor garage we used to pass when visiting relatives in Berkshire, just outside Great Shefford I think it was.
FF = Ferguson Fourwheel - basically a viscous fluid coupling. (edit added viscous in there)

      Re: Jensen Interceptor

FF - Ferguson Formula - was developed for racing cars and a Coventry Climax won a race with Stirling Moss at the wheel but the system was banned for Formula 1. It was developed by the same Ferguson who had designed tractors. It seems to have set a trend, since Lamborghini makes tractors too.

In real terms petrol was never 'dirt cheap'. I friend of mine had a Jaguar 3.8 in the 60s, but got rid of it because of the fuel costs.

I thought that VW only 'cheated' on the emissions of diesel cars, not petrol.

A bit of a typo there, Jim!

Yes - because I could actually afford to use it!

Possibly, maybe there is more to come out. Tainted brand though!

See! I knew there was a tractor connection somewhere.

'Wikipedia-ing' shows that it used a 'sprag' clutch. The Westland Wessex helicopter used two Gnome H1200s gas turbines coupled to a common gearbox with sprag clutches. There was a strict procedure for the pilot to observe to engage the clutches. An easily made mistake wrecked the clutch!

Good shots of a fine car. In my mind the name was always evocative of fast ride down down to the riviera and sweeping around the bay.

FF stood for Ferguson Formula, the type of 4WD Jensen used.

Ah! Just noticed there's a page 2 of this thread and you already know that!

As I recall FF was Ferguson Formula, which was to do with the four wheel drive. (Audi Quattro eat your heart out) Distinguishable by double vents on the side.
I think it also had large american engines, hence the fuel consumption.
I always liked the HUGE rear window. Thought it was the sort of car which would not be out of place in Thunderbirds (racing Lad Penelope's RR).
