    Having never seen godwit stick its tongue out..... Looks a bit like it picked up something from under the water to me; reason i say that is that you can see light between the halves of its bill. I don't know if godwits have a very thin tongue, but I would have expected to see some of that small gap obscured by the tongue if it were out that far. But maybe someone knows better...

        Thanks, you could be right, with the EM10 i cant use AFC so only get the one shot sometimes to choose between

              There were two of these Pipits on the sea wall at Lowestoft last week. At the time I thought they were Rock Pipits, largely because of where they were, but looking at this image it I think it is probably a Meadow Pipit. Does anybody have an opinion on this?

                I’m sure youre correct with your re-appraisal. It is a meadow pipit. The Rock Pipit is a much greyer Bird with dark legs and beak. The breast is darker with smudged ‘smokey’ streaks. Nice image!
