Re: When Natural Is Best!
Thanks for all the replies so far, but I thought I should clarify the 'natural' is the food, not the colour (but's not far out as these birds are naturally brilliant in colour).
Of course it is set on Vivid! I'll post a 'natural' version of the first one which was a partly cloudy morning unlike the other 3 which were on a bright sunny morning, when I can from my laptop because I'm typing this from my Thomson tablet (from Target) in bed.Originally posted by pandora View PostWow Ross, that colour is INSANE! I know lorikeets are bright but are you sure your cam wasn't on Vivid?
Great set btw.
Kuso says saturation high, not Natural?

Typing in bed on a tablet is decadent, Ross - I think you should take a tablet and go to sleep!Originally posted by Ross the fiddler View PostThanks for all the replies so far, but I thought I should clarify the 'natural' is the food, not the colour (but's not far out as these birds are naturally brilliant in colour).

Anyways, time I hit the sack.

Re: When Natural Is Best!
Thank you. There's nothing like the 'natural' food to keep them looking the best!Originally posted by Imageryone View PostWow! just Wow! Ross. I was feeling sorry for a pair of these in a local pet? shop recently but didn't realise how dowdy they are to the wild variety, made me feel worse
Thanks Tordon. I hope it still stands out now I've changed it?Originally posted by Tordan58 View PostGreat pictures, the first stands out.
Thanks Mark. You made me take a relook at these & sometimes Vivid is nice to use but here it was more than necessary, so I've changed them all to Natural from the RAW files (in OV3) as well as adding another one that had been intended too in 2nd place. BTW, the dogs only woke us once last night, let them out & then they went barking at the possums again, but thankfully not for long, so I got some reasonable sleep this time (except I was thinking over in my mind, "I must change those photos. I must change those photos")Originally posted by pandora View PostWow Ross, that colour is INSANE! I know lorikeets are bright but are you sure your cam wasn't on Vivid?

I have just noticed Robin Wong showing some photos from ? a camera (E-M10?) with some stunning photos including Rainbow Lorikeets & one has a mosquito on its head, of course its also sharp as a tack! See here.Ross "I fiddle with violins (when I'm not fiddling with a camera)". My Flickr

Re: When Natural Is Best!
I love nos. 1 and 2 - perfect lighting and ideal for bird shots. Certainly a characterful and beautiful creature.

Thanks Huw.Originally posted by Greytop View PostFantastic images Ross, great clarity and colours.
Thanks David. The cloud cover was enough to give me that even light on the first two unlike the others with the morning sun glow on them.Originally posted by David Morison View PostI love nos. 1 and 2 - perfect lighting and ideal for bird shots. Certainly a characterful and beautiful creature.

Robin Wong has written a review of the Stylus 1 with heaps of fantastic photos (which is normal for him) which includes one of these Rainbow Lorikeets with a mosquito on its head. Check it out. http://robinwong.blogspot.com.au/201...-1-review.html
