  • Drip, drip (and a splash of colour)

Awful weather here today, leaden skies and drizzle, and cough, splutter, croak from me (heavy cold). Not very inspiring for photographs so time for some close-up/abstracts.

First of all rainwater dripping from a gutter:

Taken with the 45mm/1.8 wide open. This is pretty much a 100% crop from the original which just shows the quality of the lens.

And then on a dull day a splash of colour:

Just liked the way the glass and liquid was back-lit by a window.

Thanks for looking. I'm off to take some paracetamol...

And some more. I don't know what possessed me to take a photo of a light bulb but...

Or why I photographed this grungy roof but it caught my attention while walking the dog:

Maybe the medication is getting to me!

This cat also made an appearance while I was walking the dog - it was safely ensconced on a wall and then a shed roof.

Keeping a watchful eye on me:

And even more so on the dog:

It's great that you still looked for pictures on such a miserable day, giving your eye and imagination free range to roam. Sometimes the practice gained in this type of situations makes you sharper and keener-eyed for when it really matters and sometimes also it throws up an unexpected gem - like that grungy roof!

Peter, thanks. Glad I'm not the only one who liked the grungy roof!

            Chevvy, thanks.

John, yes, adverse circumstances do make you look for potential pictures. When I was walking the dog I only had the 45mm with me which also tends to concentrate the mind.

Someone else making the most of a bad day.

Like the first one and for some reason I find the light bulb oddly interesting.

I've worked hard to be this grumpy. It hasn't been easy at times but it's worth it.
