Re: more bird id help requested
Mallards are the basic genetic duck, and can cross breed with most (if not all) other species. That, and the fact they are keen to muscle in on any available action, is the reason their hybrids are so often seen, especially where domestic/ornamental ducks are found (easy pickings!!).__________________

Re: more bird id help requested
I doubt it. Mallard are good eating (usually described as wild duck at the butchers) but teal and pintail are the best if you can get hold of them. You need one apiece for teal but most other ducks will feed two. They'll be on sale from 1st September when the season starts. Yum!Originally posted by Andrew Riddell View PostBut does it affect the taste?
