Thanks for sharing, Peter, as usual they are all excellent. I especially like the Herring Gull and Magpie in flight pictures.

Good morning and thank you for your kind comments John.

It was good to go down to one of my old haunts albeit on a less than good day. The garden shots were taken in the odd moments when I had time to pick up the camera.

        ... I'll second that!

The contrasting colours in the Black-headed Gull photo are nice; I mean the yellow lichens and background greens, together with the gulls red legs etc.

The Woodie could be from 'my' conifer too
I am not afraid of Tits

This stretch of Langstone harbour is always interesting. We feed our birds every day and the Wood Pigeon rules the roost. I have watched him make even a Raven feel uncomfortable as it goes straight for it with head erect and fluttering its wings to make it look bigger and more fearsome than it really is.

Great set, I like bird sets

All very good, but I think if I had to choose one, it would be the rook for two reasons :

            1. Perfect Composition
            2. Perfectly exposed blacks - very difficult on black birds

            Enjoyed this set very much

Thank you Danny. I have to agree with your comments about black birds. This also goes for white birds.

                Hi Peter,
They are all just lovely. Something special in each one, but I especially love the way the Rook is holding on to the conifer branch, and the Herring Gull is very special.

You've really caught the Herring Gull.

It's the black headed gull shot for me. Nice pose and great colour composition. It's a lovely shot.
