Really smashing images. Lots of colour and vibrance. Well done.

Sorry I did not reply earlier but I have been tied up other things which have stopped me being on here as much as I would like.

    Nick and Derek

Thank you for your kind words. I still think there is a better shot to be had. I suppose that is what keeps us going!

I was struck by the energy the bird puts into its sqwark! at the last flutter he is in the air. I really think that would be the icing on the cake. But, now that he has a harem he may not perform again

Apparently my pheasant is polygamous and will have several females around. Books say April for nesting. I shall be watching with great interest and hope to have a bigger telephoto by then too.

Any suggestions for a name? Cocky seems appropriate

Shame on you Ian, the hen pheasants are bigger and much sweeter.

But I agree, a lovely capture.

    Thank you for your comment.

No, he is safe with me, in an odd way we are quite close...(until he spots me) then he puts 30 yards between us!

    Phil, Dave and John

Thank you for your nice comments.

I've just been to see him again but he is now sulking. Still there is always tomorrow! I would love a longer lens but cannot yet decide which way to go. Still getting close is the best way.

    best wishes

That shot really looks worth the effort Fantastic. The slight motion blur in the wings gives it a real boost with the sense of motion. It gives the impression of energy.
    All the best,
    Phil
