    If you didn't see it, Guy Martin's World's Fastest Tractor (CH4) is worth a look.

    Not only did they modify a JCP tractor to 1,000 HP but some of the other machines he looked at included a tractor with four Merlin (Spitfire) engines.

    An interesting fact: a monster truck does (I think) 56m/gallon. NB that's meters, not miles.

        As some may suspect it was a must watch for me …

        I think the JCB team did a fantastic job (twice) and I loved the comment about the effect of the braking parachute "didn't notice it at all"

        I've seen quite a few tractor pull competitions, but never a professional grade one.. immense! Mind you seeing a vintage Fergie with its wheels almost straight up in the air after 50 ft is also entertaining

        I'm already looking forward to his visit to Japan on TV next week
