      Checkout Samsung's Note-2 "Phablet".
Rumour has it that Note-3 to launch around Easter will sport a 13MP Camera.
I eagerly await its release to replace my failed PENS.

      Edit: Check it out ...
Turns out there are an awful lot of phablet fans out there. More than three million, in fact, have lined up to cram Samsung's latest smartphone-cum-tablet, the Galaxy Note II, in their oversized pockets. It took 37 days for the device to pass three million sales. The Korean mobile maker confirmed these figures to AP.

Aussie cops warn about Apple maps
iOS 6 was released yesterday, and despite all of the fanfare surrounding Apple’s latest upgrade to its mobile operating system, many users are unimpressed. Apple Maps is the feature that has drawn the most criticism thus far. A few months ago, Apple announced that it would no longer be carrying Google Maps on its mobile […]

                Re: Tablet Wars

I have been looking for a tablet/pad device for a little while and though I am an Apple user, I couldn't reallypick-me-up, together with certain specific apps being available that allow me to be more effective in my home studio (music, not photography) set up, I opted for the iPad Mini. Didn't need the 3G version as I can tether from my existing iPhone so I opted for the base model, 16GB version with WiFi. Must say, am using it for a lot more things than I first anticipated. Wish I'd got one sooner to be honest.

I am pleased with the Samsung Tab 10" II for viewing photos on Flickr anywhere - its slimline footprint fits most handbags ... the phone facility is useful for emergency comms/phone/texts too.

I am sure the games and lots of apps are also great - but really its useful with just the browse internet facility to keep in touch

I cannot believe the "Tablet" photo cameras are useful for anything other than facebook/social network snapshots/reportage or ebay for sale photos. Hopefully if they do upgrade significantly, we shall hear

                    Re: Tablet Wars

I originally discounted cameras in tablets but they are useful for bar code scanning and things like augmented reality applications which can overlay information about a scene you can view via the camera. Front facing cameras also went out of style but are now back as video calling like have Skype become much more popular.

                      Re: Tablet Wars

Thanks to a favourable purchase in Melbourne airport I now own two flavours of tablet. An iPad, full-size, and. Samsung Galaxy 32gb 7".

Each has its own benefits and drawbacks. I find the iPad is great for PC sized apps, browsing, and of course the keyboard is larger. However the Samsung has a more open file system and is great, with a USB adaptor, for backing up memory cards in the field. Also its smaller size means it is more portable. Oh, and the Samsung has far more storage and in-built GPS (my iPad is the wi-fi only version so needs a dingle for GPS.).

Isn't the 'dingle' for Blackberry usage only?

I'd heard the word 'dingleberry' and assumed this is what it meant?

Kian McCreath, 11, also said that his Blackberry was a dingleberry. Or was it another similar phrase he used....?
