Sneakies you can tell ?

I go down to the bottom of the garden with the kitchen bowl of "compost" stuff ... and I enjoy a wander about and often sit and take in THE SILENCE

I also keep my latest Elle or VOgue Magazine (in one of my drawers in the bathroom) and often just pop into the shower where I can sit, and read or glance and take in THE SILENCE

In a house often occupied by 6 or 8 children ... it is almost like having a coffee, lunch, or tea break

I'm very lucky where I live I get lots and lots of silence.

Jon, I find that I like people, less and less and I used to work from hom in the Systems Industry and be quite happy not seeing anyone for 3 to 6 weeks - just with my animals (except riding my horses and walking my dogs

The idea of a) a Crofters cottage in the middle of nowhere, with a basic food delivery each week or b) a big Winnebago and driving about Scotland for the Summer & Autumn and Cornwall for the Summer - suits me

Lesley is a childminder and her day can start at 7.30am and finish at times with an overnight stay by a minded child. Regularly we have kids here until after 6pm.

Recent changes at work now mean that I, on paper, work from home

You are right though - sneaking into the bog for 5 minutes is pure bliss

Jon, when Nicks arm/shoulder etc., is better the Stables/Tackroom are going to be my studio/den - for now I shall "pretend" I am somewhere else ... when inside and the backdrops will help ...

I have so enjoyed the E-forum "visits to you" and they have "opened my eyes" to another Scotland

Greg, we have a new baby - well she has been here 2 months since she was 4 months old - she arrives at 6.40am - her Parents work in Canery Wharf and are on the 7.05am train to the City they usually get the 6.35pm from Waterloo - although often its delayed ... and they collect her between 7.45pm-9.15pm x 4 days a week from this week I do so LURVE her dearly, she is such a happy baby, but heck - its hard work ... then there is the NEW (yet another EYFS, 5th in 10 years) ... and we have our second Toddler arrives at 7.30am - others at 8am and up to 9am ... tomorrow a full house 5 x under 3's and 3 x 6yrs after school ... but hey I do lurve it really rather going out to the Zoo; Butterfly World; Feed the Alpacas than go to Longon on the TRAIN ... just need a Crofters Cottage or a Winnebago ...

I go down to Melbourne on the train once a month, I know mad, but its my only vanity. My moment is sitting on the train on the way home and thanking who ever is up there that I now live where I do. Like Jon we live in the bush, and another is to sit half way down the hill and look with Oliver (dog).

I work from home (although my wife doesn't believe it) & when the phone rings, sometimes my feelings are, "Oh, who wants to pester me now?" Not good for making a living though. My best incentive is when I want to buy another bit of gear.

Roberta, I used to work in USA lots of weeks and coming home from Heathrow, I would get to the beginning of the M3 (south) and even in pitch black I KNEW I was now surrounded by fields - I could breathe the sweet and fresh air - the rest of the 50 mins drive home was pure please for the fresh air and the green and lush countryside I was getting closer to

I have to confess that I love getting out of the office at lunch time to put my feet up and catch up on twitter and my e-mails in peace and quiet. I tried noise cancelling headphones at my desk. The result, people just waved in my face instead! Glad I'm not alone in valuing a little bit of sanctuary!
