    Re: Luminar 3

I hope you are feeling better and the treatment is going well for you. In regard to Luminar 3, I have it on the MacBook Pro and I use an app called Dr. Cleaner to reclaim large memory resources Luminar uses up. When it was launched in 2018 it had various bugs, for example some users complained of crashes, screen freezes and generally slow. Various updates were supposed to correct the issues. I decided not to go for Luminar 4 in case Skylum had launched a product with bugs. I will wait and see. Luminar is not for everyone. Their sales pitch and the graphics with the sales pitch are impressive....being able to replace a drab sky with a click, maybe a clever gimmick, but if you are unhappy with Luminar 4, drop Skylum an email and ask for a refund. From reading their support blogs, I have seen refunds given.
    All the best

      Re: Luminar 3

Thought I would give Luminar 4 a trial run.

Have to say the sky replacement could not be easier and it even relights the scene.

It does open up lots of possibilities to create fake images though.

        Re: Luminar 3

I have good news! Luminar 4 installed OK, and works as stand-alone and as a LRCC plug-in, probably will also work as a Ps plug-in but I have not tried yet.

The user interface on Luminar 4 appears to be a lot different to Luminar 3. I need to watch a few videos to get the hang of it.

My original intention was to learn Luminar and then do away with Adobe CC, but this seems rather far off as I have Luminar as a plug in for CC.

Maybe I should start shooting some landscapes with boring skies.

I would appreciate a link to any good training videos for Luminar 4.

            Re: Luminar 3

Last summer we were in Malton under a grey sky:

After some study I got the sky to look like this with Luminar 4.

No other selection software I have ever had could do this.. . .

I think this is going to come in handy.

Luminar 3 had a plug in of over 100 different skies, blues, reds for tweaking, but its application is not as refined or simple as Luminar 4 is, in Luminar 3, the skies have to be layered in using brushes and there is no single click to make the sky work instantly or to fill in the 'gaps in the pixels. In Luminar 3, the sky application is tedious and time consuming.

The main thing is to have fun....enjoy

Well it seems Skylum do care about their users.
                  Makes a pleasant change.
