Are you opening the file by double-clicking on its name in Explorer? If so, either open the file from within OV2, or change the file association in Windows Explorer. You'll find that under Tools > Folder Options, then click on the File Types tab. Scroll down till you find the .ORF file and then click on it and then click on Change, and select OV2 (it's probably set to E9 at the moment). That's in Windows XP, other versions might be slightly different. Hope that helps.
Edit: just seen SteveJ's post - as always in Windows there are half a dozen ways of doing the same thing. That should work just as well .

I'm going nowhwere near Explorer, I'm trying to open it it OV2.
I don't have a Tools > Folder Options, in Explorer either.
Could you explain in a bit more detail please, Dave? When you say "I'm trying to open it in OV2", do you mean that you have OV2 on the screen, and you go to OV2's toolbar and File/Open?
if you do, I'm afraid I've no idea what's wrong! Except I'm not sure whether OV2 supports E-M1 raw files, you may well need to use OV3 (the current version).
First you need to ditch OV2 which is defunct and install OV3 which is probably on the disk that came with your camera but is also available to download with a camera serial number, just Google it.
The Oly Raw codec only allows you to view Raw files in explorer but has not been updated for the E-M1 yet.
If it doesn't work after that we need to have another think.
All the best

I am a Mac user but according to this the advice given in earlier posts should work. I don't know why right clicking doesn't work. I agree about installing OV3 from the disc which came with the camera.
I'll come with a question. Why don't you have OV3 instead of OV2? EDIT. I just noticed your post above & hope it works for you the way you want in OV3 now.
And another. Do you have these photos in folders or albums? Another EDIT. OV3 also gives you the option for albums or folders. I would stick with folders myself.
