    True, saving local copies and displaying in photo viewer SW on computer they look sharper and with higher contrast. I also think the JPGs are a bit too much compressed (looking at file size ~100kB).

      Re: EC-20 and 50-200 SWD

      I still haven't got around to testing my EC-20 and 50-200. I've yet to do a proper test of the EC-20 behind my OM 350mm although initial tests show it should be a usable combo.
      It's the image that's important, not the tools used to make it.

            Wonderful, wonderful image, very well executed.

            Perfect timing, beautiful bird with such graceful lines. It's just awesome in every respect.

              Quite remarkable. How much did you crop from the original?

                Beautiful, it looks like a finally crafted painting (in a good way).
                Stunning image. my congratulations Katran.

                  Re: EC-20 and 50-200 SWD

                  Thank you for your nice commments !
                  The crop was 3Mp crop from the original image (aprox. 2100x1600), then I resized it to 1200x900 . So it was like 50% resize. The image looks decent even at 100%. Of course, it looks better when is resized.
                  If I would had good light, the picture would be even better. I had to push up the shadows, this means some more noise on the picture. But the end, is not bad. I am happy with the result.

                  Here is a second picture with the same chestrel:

                    Re: EC-20 and 50-200 SWD

                    I just tested E-M1 MARK II + 50-200 SWD + EC-20.

                    It works very fine, much better than on E-5:
                    -faster focus, good enough for birds in flight (I felt very comfortable with speed);
                    -it's very well stabilized by the E-M1 II (while on E-5 was extremely sensible on shaking). I used eletronic shutter and IS activated;
                    -I could keep IS active even for BIFs. The image came out sharp.

                    I felt the combo like a new lens, no more limitations as on E-5.
                    For those who have this combo, I recomand E-M1 MARK II. It will be a real improvment from all points of views : focus speed and precision, IS, IQ.

                    I have some pictures to show (all are ISO-1600):

                        Thanks Toni. Are these at F/9?

                          Re: EC-20 and 50-200 SWD

                          Thank you for your comments.

                          All these 3 photos are F/9.0 because I had plenty of speed, otherwise I would not hesitate to use F/7.1.

                          Recently I discover that even F/7.1 can look nice, especially when the subject is close (maximum 10 meters). I will post some F/7.1 samples soon.

                          F/7.1 is somehow sensible on E-5 (the results are not all the time good). I do not know if it is sensible because shaking or because of focus precision.
                          On E-M1 II should be a different story. I will not confirm yet because I did not made enough photos at F/7.1, but I will do it soon.

                          It was a period when I tried to exchange my EC-20 for an EC-14. I would not do it anymore.
                          I consider EC-20 better now because it offers an longer reach while keeping good IQ and relatively fast AF with the last camera from Olympus - E-M1 II.

                          Now looking back to E-5, I still consider it an great camera. I have it for more than 5 years, I learned its weakneases and its strengths, and get better and better results during years.
                          This is an image made with E-5, handheld, ISO-1600, 1/250s, 400mm, f/9.0. A few years ago, I would fail to produce an usable photo in such conditions.

                            Re: EC-20 and 50-200 SWD

                            Recently I switched to 300mm F/4.0 and I am no longer use 50-200 SWD + EC-20. I sold it.

                            The new lens, of course, is a massive step ahead regarding IQ, speed, IS, precision.

                            Looking back, I still find that 50-200 swd + EC-20 was a nice combo. I made nice pictures with it.

                            I will make a last post here with pictures made with 50-200 + EC-20:

                                With images as good as that I'm surprised you sold it. Plus if you think the 300mm is even better I hope you start sharing your shots with that lens asap. I'm sure I must have seen this thread earlier but I don't remember it so I've just had a wonderful time looking through it from the start. I'll echo Tordan's comment thanks for sharing your experience with us .
