  • First failure - door

Well it is two years old but I now have to resort to insulation tape to keep the card door closed

    Anything broken off ??

I looked at my E410 and by the looks of it: if you have to replace the door, the entire back has te come off, a repair for Olympus.

Nothing broken, just a worn plastic clip ... and no unless Olympus like us 400 owners very much and offer a repair FOC, the insulation tape will have to do...

My 400 door broke less than a year old, the clip didn't break completely but cracked and then effectively made hinge that some time held and sometimes didn't.
Sent back to Oly who failed to spot the problem and returned in same state so did close up shot and sent print back with it, came back quicker 2nd time and job done. Have to say it is one area I am not over happy with from design point of view and the 510 is the same.
Looked at E-30 yesterday and it has been changed you slide out and then hinge so hopefully better but it is a corner of the camera that sees some load when carrying and you can feel it move slightly!
