Re: Anyone still using their E400 in anger?

Just received my E-400. I know it's a few years old now but I couldn't afford any of the newer models and saw this as a great price so snapped it up. It's my first DSLR so I am really happy with it. People still use this model?

I still use my E400, I like it! I think its a sentimental thing as it was my first DSLR too.

          Enjoy!
          Thanks

I'm still using my E-410. Nowadays it's used with my collection of manual focus primes. Last weekend I was looking for a Black Bear with my OM 300mm and Tamron 135mm on it.

Mine went to my ex. It's a great camera. Compared to the modern sensors it's not so capable in low light, but that's only a problem if you want/need to take moving subjects in low light; solved by a good flash unit, or a good understanding of available light.

You should be able to get some older 4/3 kit now that miicro 4/3 has taken over.

              Welcome to the forum!!

Yes - I'm using it with my Lensbaby Composer & optics - it has a Katzeye focusing screen, and as you have to manually focus the Lensbaby, it's a no brainer! 28k shutter count in almost 8yrs - got a few more years left in it...

I've lent my E-410 and the kit lenses to a friends son who's doing a photography module in high school.

Just got one myself. I had a 510 then 520 previously and still have the 35 macro in addition to the dual kit zooms that came with that very cheap E-400

                      An e400... WOW!

Although I haven't used this for over 4 years due to vision impairment, I still have my trusty e20 on standby. Looking forward to late November when I get my third eye op. Sometimes going back to the future brings everything into sharp focus.

The E20 had a lot going for it and was my first proper digital camera.

I took the E-400 out for a hike today. Shot everything on the 14-42 kit zoom as I was too lazy to change lenses. We'll see what that gives but at least it was fun to hike with such a light and compact DSLR.
