    Those who use spectacles need to be equally careful, especially when placing them on a book in direct sunlight.

      I would imagine that it is quite easy to get sunlight shining through the viewfinder if you have the camera slung over your shoulder with the lens pointing down on a bright day. I carry mine in a holster with a flap covering it, partly for this reason. If I am carrying it cradled in my arms I always take care to shade the viewfinder with my hands. Also, if I lay it down on a shelf in a hide I always make sure that the viewfinder is not facing the sun.

        Well. it is nice to know Olympus sorted this problem for the mk2 ...

        Shame there is no comeback for faulty design.

          When a camera (E-M5) has been fixed for that they have been known to add filter film to the EVF glass. It does mean adjusting the brightness & colour balance of the EVF, but apparently it can be effective.
