  • AF Targeting Pad

I like to use the AF targeting pad with the EVF but find it keeps turning itself off. Does anyone know why and how I can get it to stay on permanently?

Yeah, a double tap on the screen (while looking through the EVF) should turn it back on. See page 100 of the manual, as quoted below.
AF Targeting Pad If [On] is selected, the AF target can be positioned by
touching the area on the right side of the monitor during
viewfi nder photography. Touch the monitor and slide your
fi nger to position the AF target.
    • Double-tap the monitor to turn [AF Targeting Pad] on or off.
    • [AF Targeting Pad] can also be used with zoom frame AF.

      Thanks Ross,

I must be double tapping the monitor without realising it. I've read through the manual, it's not the easiest read, but missed that point.

Unfortunately, the manuals aren't an easy read & why there are other books written to help (particularly) with new users.
