Yes, it was this "Olympus Employee's" review that convinced me to go for the 25mm f1.8. He knows how to make his equipment sing and dance.

although it is a great lens - I am sticking with primes and waiting out (and continuing saving ) for the 300

Two fellow club members have both told me that they intend to sell all of their MZuiko lenses and just rely on the pro 12-40 F2.8, 40-150 F2.8 plus 1.4 converter. That way they always have a weather sealed outfit with the E-M1.

Like many others I am very tempted by this new lens but I already have the Panasonic 35-100mm f2.8 which is a very good lens and is smaller and lighter than the new 40- 150 Pro lens. For longer FLs I have the Olympus 75-300. Looking at the images I take with the longer lenses most are either under 100mm or near 300mm. Rationally I should wait for the new 300mm lens plus adapter.

Two fellow club members have both told me that they intend to sell all of their MZuiko lenses and just rely on the pro 12-40 F2.8, 40-150 F2.8 plus 1.4 converter. That way they always have a weather sealed outfit with the E-M1.

That is the way I propose to go, but with the addition of the 1.4 converter. Got to sell a grandchild first though

Sadly it's a whole lot of money for me in the context of putting the last one of my three through university at the moment. Bless her!

The other factor for me is that I've just discovered, rather belatedly to be sure, m.Zuiko primes.

In fact I think I'm a born again prime follower

Having said that I don't want to try one as if I do I know I'll get the "I wants" so bad it will positively hurt.

Hec me a prime Zuiko m 4/3 collector and user too they ARE AMAZING it has taken me a bit to get used to "selecting the correct lens for the image" but I am getting there and the IQ on the 12 and 25 BLOW me away ... as well as the 75 and the 60 Macro now they are all my FAVs and the 75-300 MkII and, I can carry the lot and its little le4ss than the E-5 and 50-200 in ruck sack weight

What is your youngest reading ? and at which Uni ? I thin your very lucky (well worked hard at Parenting) on getting all three to Uni and boy what a cost for you ...

Stephen Biddulph says in one of his books forward " ... Parents who invest time and money in their children get far more back than Parents who dont

so you should be a Millionaire Parent soon Wishing you all well through these difficult and hard work Uni years as a family

What is your youngest reading ? and at which Uni ? I thin your very lucky (well worked hard at Parenting) on getting all three to Uni and boy what a cost for you ...

She's doing Vet Nursing which is a 4 year course. Three to get her RVN and another for the BSc. She also hopes to get the first of her post RVN add on qualifications in "Exotics" at the same time as her BSc.

Over the years I've invested so much time and money in my three it's scary. Apart from uni the big block was sailing. At the peak I had two in National squads for four years which was a logistical nightmare as they sailed just about every weekend all year no matter what the weather. Squad weekends were all over the country so I put 150,000 miles in towing at least one boat each weekend. Plus numerous competitions of course including Nationals, Europeans and Worlds which we were obliged to attend. The latter two were all over the place but my favourite was Lake Garda in Italy which is a super place and we went to several times. The Ora wind comes in late morning/early afternoon and you have 30 degrees C heat with 25 kts wind. Wonderful sailing especially in 29ers which are rocket ships in that sort of breeze if you can handle them.

Hec, it is very lovely to read of your years with your children. I recall your photos of Lake Garda and you "joy" at being there and having such a wonderful time !

There are few sports as sailing for Team Building and appreciating individuals contributions

I once went on a 49 er (maybe that is a longer version of the 29er ??? it had "nets" you flung yourself on to weight/balance the boat I lurved it although I am not a sailor - Nick was and many friends and I was always delighted to be invited to 'crew' even in the Galley as I got to stand at the 'sharp end' with the yacht keeling over and water along the side deck ? gunnels ? it was exhilarating - like galloping a horse bareback up a steep hill over the snow covered ground or skiing down a black or red run fast and steep bit and compares favorable with riding a Ducati Superbike at high speeds ( within the speed limits prevailing, of course

Your daughter is doing very well on the Vet front I wish her all the stamina to succeed ... I only recently realised why it takes longer to be a Vet than a Doctor to humans (animals cannot speak and tell you of their symptoms )
