I use my iPad one too, my computer is also USB-C so the one shipped with the EM1-II is no good for me as that's USB-C to USB and I need USB-C to USB-C

Many thanks still could not find the lead but after reading your reply I went and looked at my Samsung leads and found one which fitted the bottom socket on my camera. I never knew you could use that port for updating so just finished my update now ready for these planes

( maybe should read the new notes ?)

        Many, many thanks

Any USB-C lead will work. It is a standard modern USB cable.

Yes, read pages 196 to 202 of the new manual, that will bring you up to date.

It's just a standard USB-C lead - easy to buy and you may have one if you have a recent phone.

One of the best things about the MkII was the move to standard connectors for USB, video and remote.

If you have a card reader, you can download the upgrade from https://lightsnowdev.com/Olympus/faq.html and then use an SD card to load the firmware into the camera.

Could that be a useful backup if something went wrong when doing it online in the usual way?

According to the website, you can even use it to go back to an earlier version of firmware, so I guess this covers problems

This afternoon I tried to update my Mk2 on my shiney new windows 10 machine. The camera would connect but I kept getting unable to connect to server.
I fired up my old windows 7 machine and it went through fine.
I assume this is probaly a firewall issue, I'm using the inbuilt Microsoft firewall.
So the update is done but in the future I'll not want to use the window 7 machine, should I try with the firewall disabled or is that a bit dodgy???
                      All the best

Was that with the standalone Updater or with Olympus Workspace on the Win10 pc?

Ahh think it's because I didn't have camera updater downloaded to the new PC. Now when I try it from workspace it opens camera updater and connects and offers my the update page.

                            Phew.

Don't touch the firewall, no need.

Perhaps you needed to update Workspace to version 1.1 using Help/Update software. After doing that you can do the update from Workspace, using version 2.2 of the updater.
