Yes, I use various tubes and converters. Mine is the Nikon mount on an adapter. The mechanical quality is not that great, but the glass does the job.

I was not using the 10mm tube or the mc-14...

It's a mazegill, possibly Oak Mazegill (Daedalea quercina (L.): Fr.) which is know to infect Eucalyptus. It looks past its best and seems to have some kind of mould on it.

Targeting the subject at 600mm afst enough if the background is busy can be tricky, but with practice comes skills. It is definitely doable.

You should be able to hand-shoot at 600mm with ease...
